Ad Specifications for the AdUp Ads Tool
To ensure your campaigns are displayed optimally, you should follow some basic requirements for text and images.
In the AdUp Ads Tool, your ads are dynamically assembled from individual components โ depending on placement and layout.
Basic Principle
Your ad consists of several elements:
Headline
Ad text
Image
Destination URL
These components are combined differently depending on the publisher and ad layout. Therefore, it is important that each individual component works well on its own.
๐ Tip: Always place the most important content at the beginning of your headline and in the first part of the text.
Text Requirements
For an optimal display, the following maximum character lengths apply (including spaces):
Headline: max. 35 characters
Ad text: max. 80 characters
Displayed URL: max. 35 characters
Keep your text concise and focus on clear messages.
Image Formats
To ensure your ad is displayed optimally on all devices, you should provide multiple image formats:
1:1 โ 1000 ร 1000 px
4:3 โ 1000 ร 750 px
16:9 โ 1000 ร 563 px
10:3 โ 1000 ร 300 px
These formats enable flexible delivery across different placements and devices.
Video Ads โ Specifications & Tips
Video Ads must not exceed a maximum file size of 5MB and must not be longer than 15 seconds. After these 15 seconds, your video will loop (meaning it repeats automatically). We recommend a file resolution of 720p or Full HD. However, the rule is: the larger, the better. Supported formats are: mp4, webm, mov, and gif. No relevant information should be placed near the edges of the image, as your video will automatically be cropped to the required aspect ratios 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, and 10:3. Additionally, we recommend setting up all video ads in a separate ad group.

Best Practices for Better Performance
Use high-quality, clear images
Focus on specific and easy-to-understand headlines
Avoid unnecessary filler text
Test different variations (A/B testing)
Think of your ad modularly rather than statically
Important to understand
Since publishers define the layout of their ad blocks individually, you have no influence over how your ad is ultimately displayed.
๐ This makes it all the more important that:
each component works on its own
your message is instantly understood
your ad is convincing even in reduced variations
In brief
For successful campaigns in the AdUp Ads Tool, you should rely on clear, short texts, provide multiple image formats, and get straight to the point with your most important content. Since ads are served modularly, it is crucial not to think of them as a rigid format, but rather as flexible and component-based.
