Find out which targeting options AdUp offers and how you can target your campaigns by location, keywords, devices or past user interactions.

Overview

With AdUp's targeting options, you can deliver your campaigns specifically to the right target audience.

Depending on your campaign goal, you can align ads by location, device, keywords or past user interactions, for example. This allows you to increase the relevance of your campaigns and use your budget more efficiently.

Below you will find an overview of all available targeting options.

Geo-Targeting

With geo-targeting, you can determine in which regions your ads are displayed.

The following target areas are available:

  • Countries

  • Federal states and regions

  • Postcode areas

  • Individual postcodes (accurate to five digits)

Geo-targeting is particularly suitable for:

  • Local businesses

  • Regional campaigns

  • Branch networks

  • Location-based offers

You can find the settings under:

Campaigns → Overview → Edit Campaign

Native Retargeting

Not every visitor completes the desired action on the first contact.

With native retargeting, you can re-engage users who have already visited your website. This enables you to bring prospective customers back in a targeted manner and increase the likelihood of a conversion.

Benefits:

  • Re-engagement of interested users

  • Higher conversion rates

  • Better brand perception

  • Continuous optimisation through the AdUp algorithm

Native retargeting is particularly suitable for:

  • E-commerce

  • Lead generation

  • Travel portals

  • Financial and insurance offers

Keyword Targeting

With keyword targeting, ads are delivered to match the interests or search queries of users.

Ads can be automatically assigned to the appropriate environments based on:

  • Website content

  • Search queries

  • URL content

Keyword targeting is particularly suitable when users are already showing interest in a specific topic or product.

Typical areas of application:

  • Product searches

  • Travel deals

  • Job advertisements

  • Financial products

  • Services

Device Targeting

With device targeting, you can determine on which devices your ads should appear.

Supported device types:

  • Desktop

  • Smartphone

  • Tablet

You can also filter by operating system:

  • Android

  • iOS

  • Windows

  • macOS

Device targeting is suitable, for example, for:

  • Mobile campaigns

  • App advertising

  • Desktop applications

  • Device-specific landing pages

Combining Targeting

For particularly precise campaigns, you can combine multiple targeting options with each other.

Examples:

  • Geo-Targeting + Device Targeting for regional mobile campaigns

  • Keyword Targeting + Native Retargeting for interested existing visitors

  • Geo-Targeting + Keyword Targeting for local search queries

By combining multiple targeting methods, you can reach your target audience even more accurately.

Best Practices

Define target audience as precisely as possible

The more accurate your targeting, the more relevant your ads will be.

Do not restrict too much

Extremely narrow targeting can significantly reduce the reach of your campaign.

Optimise campaigns regularly

Regularly review the performance of your targeting settings and adjust them as needed.

Combining Targeting

Several targeting options can be combined sensibly to reduce wastage.
