What ad specifications are needed for the AdUp Ads Tool?

There are a few things to consider when designing your ad. In this article we give you the most important tips for the perfect layout.

In our AdUp inventory, we reassemble the building blocks of text, headline, images and links for each playout of your ads. What you see here is therefore only one of several possibilities of how your ads can look on the later pages. The publisher determines which layout and design is best suited to his page when he installs his ad unit. This helps the publisher, you as advertiser and also the user. The publisher has the option of not displaying the 'Displayed URL/CTA' element in order to achieve a particularly harmonious image of the ads in his content. Therefore, make sure to put the most important content of your ad in the headline and at the beginning of the text.

Ad texts

Create your ad texts in compliance with the maximum number of characters (including spaces):

  • Headline: max. 35 characters
  • Text: max. 80 characters
  • Displayed URL: max. 35 characters

Image formats

We use four image formats to present your ad optimally on all devices.

  • 1:1 (1.000x1.000 px)
  • 4:3 (1.000x750 px)
  • 16:9 (1.000x563 px)
  • 10:3 (1.000x300 px)

Since our publishers usually offer all four formats on their websites, it is necessary to add an image file for each of the formats for optimal performance. The images must not exceed a maximum file size of 2MB and must be uploaded in either JPEG or PNG format. For optimal display, even on high-resolution displays, we recommend using images with an edge length of at least 1000px. Furthermore, the maximum permitted upload size is 4000x4000 pixels.

Video Ads - Specifications & Tips

Video ads must not exceed a maximum file size of 5MB and must not last longer than 15 seconds. After these 15 seconds, your video will be looped (it repeats automatically). We recommend a file resolution of 720p or Full HD. However, the bigger the better. Acceptable formats are: mp4, webm, mov and gif. No relevant information should be placed on the edges of the image, as your video will automatically be cropped to the required 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and 10:3 aspect ratios. We also recommend creating all video ads in a separate ad group.
